In 2006 Hunter Ridge Farm started the IEA hunt seat team, The Tuscarawas Equestrian Team. IEA stands for Interscholastic Equestrian Team which is a horse show organization that is for riders in grades 6th-12th grade and has a similar format to that of the Intercollegiate Equestrian Assoc. IEA was formed and organized to promote and improve the quality of equestrian competition and instruction available to middle and secondary school students.
The riders do not have to own a horse to participate or show. They will draw a horse on the day of the show that they will have to perform with over fences or on the flat. They are allowed two practice jumps and no practice on the flat. The Tuscarawas Equestrian Team in based out of Zone 5 Region 1 and travels to the Cleveland area for qualifying shows and sometimes all over Ohio or surrounding states.
